Ross Ulbricht is the probably the most well known person to operate a darknet service in history, being the only one to be the main topic of a documentary film. He operated the Silk Road marketplace, a site similar to eBay but intended for drug proliferation primarily. Though many believe his operation of the Silk Road was not immoral in any way, other actions he had engaged in such as attempting to hire a hitman can justifiably be seen as immoral.
